Streaming platforms: Streaming platforms are services which allow users to watch content like movies TV shows music and other broadcasting shoes without downloading the services I provided online and you can watch it using the internet.

Examples of streaming platforms include Netflix, YouTube, Disney Plus, prime video and etc.

Evolution of streaming platforms has transformed people to access and consume of media from pass few decades. Today a streaming platform could be used for entertainment education and even communication.

Let’s look into the evolution of streaming platforms:

• The streaming platform started back in 1990 which is known as dial of internet error in this limited internet access and content was available with on the platform. This only allowed audio streaming with less or no videos streaming
• Then came pioneering services in 2000 with introduction of broadband Internet which allowed more rovers streaming services like YouTube.
• Then came DVD and rental services with Netflix streaming platforms in 2007. This marked as the beginning of the subscription-based streaming model that would dominate the industry. Around the same time other streaming platform was also introduce like Hulu in 2007 and Amazon prime video in 2006.

  

• Then in 2013 there was emergence of originals. which let they start of streaming platform originals in this streaming platform invest in original content to differentiate themselves from other competitors
• Then in 2010 came the music original streaming platform like apple music, Spotify and another.
• After this many interactive and live streaming platforms were also introduced to the audience.

This streaming platform kept updating time by time and now it’s become the major demand for entertainment.

How are streaming platform rising in getting popular?

Reason behind the rise of streaming platforms is: –

1. It provide technology advancement like internet speed, bandwidth capacity, high quality video and audio.
2. The invention of smart device, TV, smartphones, laptops, and tablets made it easier for people to access to streaming platform and watch and get entertained anytime and anywhere they want.
3. They provide large amount of content from across the world. There are content in various languages, genres and subtitles available on this streaming platform.

   

4. These are becoming alternatives of television shows and movies as there and many web series with seasons and episode or movies with various genres available at one place at a very low cost.
5. It has a high global reach from different countries. With access to various content, global shows and music.
6. It also promote social media sharing, uses generated content marketing and partnership offers.

How is the film industry getting destroyed because of the streaming platform?

The rise of the streaming platform has disturbed or destroyed traditional fame industries in the following ways: –

1. People prefer home comfort in watching movies or web series on streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon prime video rather than booking a show and going to the theatres.
2. The movies which release in theatres eventually after sometimes start releasing on streaming platforms. Thus, people refer to watching it later on the streaming platform rather than going to the theatres.
3. With growing content need and pressure to create new content traditional industries are facing a major competition. This makes them compete not only with other films in theatre but also content available on streaming platforms. which make them lack in quality and innovative thinking for the movie
4. The lack of opportunity for independent filmmakers to reach global level as they struggle to reach the audience.

   

5. Revenue generation, people prefer to take subscriptions of streaming platforms rather than booking a ticket to watch a film is a major reason for the disturbance and destruction of traditional film studios.
6. The lack of movie going culture and shift to streaming platforms at home.
7. The Pandemic or Covid era was a major promotion for streaming platforms during this time people majorly shifted from traditional movies to streaming platforms.
8. The introduction to binge watching era also was a major trend for streaming platforms.

In what ways film industry can rise them self again.

Film industry can rice them self again in the following ways: –

1. By alternative release on both streaming platforms and theatres. This could satisfy different ordinance with different preference.
2. Promoting cinema visit by exclusive oil early exits of friends in theatres.
3. Encouraging theatres on social and other platforms or making it a new trend.
4. Development of content and technology used in cinemas.

   

5. By making diverse content in various languages genres and subtitles. So that a lot audience can get engaged.
6. By making original content that makes people feel iconic and nostalgic in theatre.
7. Co-production and partnership with streaming platform and other competitive will make a new opportunity to reach a wider and blue will audience with benefiting marketing powers.
8. Smarter use of streaming analysis and flexible distribution of channel.

What is the future of film and streaming platforms?

The future of film and streaming platforms are shaped by rapid evolution of technology, audience preference, and industry dynamics.

The traditional films and streaming services will co-exist with each other influencing people individually, with partnership or with hybrid release models. Slowly both the platforms will reach globally with content growth with different genres, languages and styles.
