For the first time, the grand event is being digitized on such a large scale, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media platforms to enhance management and security.

AI-powered cameras are being installed throughout the Kumbh site to monitor the massive crowd and ensure 24/7 surveillance. These state-of-the-art cameras will not only bolster security but also assist in reuniting individuals who may get separated during the event.

In addition, popular social media platforms like Facebook and X will provide immediate assistance in locating lost relatives, streamlining the process of reuniting families amidst the sea of pilgrims.

Digital Mahakumbh will help the lost and found center

This time, visitors from across the country and abroad attending the Digital Mahakumbh 2025 won’t have to worry about losing their loved ones in the crowd. The Mela administration has devised an extensive plan to address this concern. A digital ‘khoya paaya kendra’ (lost-and-found center) will go live from December 1, utilizing advanced technology to reunite separated individuals quickly and efficiently.

The entire fair area is being equipped with 328 AI-enabled cameras, which have already been tested at four key locations. These cameras will monitor the crowd 24/7 and assist in locating lost individuals. Under the directives of the Yogi government, the large-scale installation of these cameras is in its final stages.

The digital lost-and-found centers will immediately register every missing person’s details digitally. Once registered, the AI-powered cameras will begin searching for the individual. Preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, the world’s largest religious gathering, are in full swing in Prayagraj, with government officials working round the clock to ensure everything is on track. Throughout the day, officials focus on critical planning tasks in their offices, while late into the night, they conduct on-ground inspections to monitor progress in development and construction activities.

Any issues that arise are being promptly addressed, with immediate instructions given to resolve them. This high-paced effort reflects Yogi govt Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, as both the Mela and the district administrations are working tirelessly to create a seamless and memorable Mahakumbh experience by completing the preparations ahead of schedule.

With just over two months left for Mahakumbh 2025, preparations in Prayagraj are in full swing. A wide range of arrangements is being made to handle influx of devotees, with ongoing works including building railway overbridges to road widening. The city is being transformed with the construction of thematic gates, vibrant wall paintings, and park beautification projects. Renovation of temples and construction work on the ghats are also advancing rapidly.

Departments like the Mela Authority, PWD, Prayagraj Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Tourism Department, Irrigation Department, and Setu Nigam are working in close coordination to complete the projects on time. To ensure steady progress, officials from various departments are now conducting late-night inspections. These surprise visits have significantly accelerated the pace of work, ensuring that all preparations stay on track.

In recent days, the Vice-Chancellor and Secretary of the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) conducted late-night inspections of ongoing development works at key locations, including High Court Road, Chhota Baghada Road, Arail, Kydganj, Hatia, Nurullah, Jhunsi Bus Stand, and Lete Hanuman Temple. During these inspections, they provided necessary instructions for improvements to the implementing agencies.

Similarly, officers from the Mela administration also carried out midnight inspections at various sites, focusing on construction and development projects. They directed departmental staff to ensure adequate water and electricity supply. This heightened night-time vigilance has accelerated departmental work, with special emphasis on projects that had been pending for some time.

Yogi govt:-

The Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh is taking significant steps to ensure a comfortable experience for devotees attending the Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025. In addition to the sprawling tent city being set up for visitors, the government is considering introducing state-of-the-art sleeping pods for the first time.

The Tourism Department has already prepared a detailed road map for this initiative. If everything proceeds as planned, devotees will have access to these innovative sleeping pods, offering them a modern and convenient accommodation option during the grand religious gathering.

Following the success of sleeping pod facilities at Prayagraj Junction Railway Station, devotees and tourists visiting the Kumbh area will soon be able to enjoy these modern amenities there as well.

Aparajita Singh, Regional Tourism Officer of Prayagraj, shared that a traditional tent city is being set up at the Parade Ground, while two luxury tent cities are being built on a public-private partnership (PPP) model in Arail and Jhunsi. The response from tourists and devotees has been positive, with 1,600 out of 2,000 tents already booked in Arail.

Plans for the second tent city in Jhunsi include setting up 400 sleeping pods. The tender process is currently underway, and the construction will be finalized once all safety standards are met.

These sleeping pods are capsule-shaped chambers equipped with modern amenities designed to meet the needs of travelers. Each air-conditioned pod will provide a comfortable sleeping space, charging ports, and access to drinking water.
